Today we are excited to have Minister Will Walton from Modesto as our guest. He is now a new licensed minister and is on staff at the Modesto Gospel Mission.

When was the first time you experienced drinking or drugs?

15 years old he tried his first drink and his mother beat him half to death. At 18 years old he tried crank.

What became your drug of choice?

Crystal Meth

What or who influenced you to start doing drugs?

The drinking he did it to fit in.  Because of girlfriend he had, she convinced him to try it.

Did the drugs ever make you paranoid or cause you to hallucinate?

The drugs had him thinking that his wife was sneaking behind his back and sleeping with other men and they were going do things together with other people involved in their relationship.

What was the worst thing you did or where did you hit rock bottom?

Homeless living and sleeping in abandon houses with other people urine and feces on the floor. Intercourse with family was involved. Sitting at the park and to this day he feels that God sent him an angel that told him about the Gospel Mission.

What was the price of you using drugs? With your friends, your family, other relationships? Did the addiction cost you everything?

He lost his job because as soon as he would get paid he was calling the connection. He lost his marriage and his family.

Did you ever steal from your family or others to support your habit? Did you do anything illegal?

He stole his brother’s laptop

Now that you’ve recovered, what word of encouragement would you like to give someone who is struggling with addiction?

You don’t have to live the way you are living. God has a better plan for you. You just have to find it. Don’t give up there is hope in Jesus just hold on
